A look at Gen Bajwa's services for Pakistan as COAS

(Dunya News) – On November 29, 2016, General Qamar Javed Bajwa took charge as 10th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) till November 2019 and changed the fate of Pakistan with respect to security conditions.

Bajwa, as a newly-appointed COAS, wisely handled the matters pertaining to anti-militant operations Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad and recognized peace in the country as his key mission. He enthusiastically faced all the challenges and made with his own identity by adopting effective strategy to fail the nefarious plans of the terrorists.

General Bajwa not only carried out actions against the terrorists but also delivered message of peace to them. The process of forgiving the fugitives of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and others was taken place during his tenure.

He also provided his services for the construction of boundary walls and fences along the Afghan border. The Pakistan Army, under the supervision of General Bajwa, has also completed dozens of development projects in ex-Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Balochistan.

The army chief has special affiliation with his soldier as he visits Line of Control (LoC) areas on every occasion whether it is religious or national to meet on-duty officers. When he was invited at the Prime Minister (PM) House to inform him about his nomination as the COAS, he frankly embraced his junior officers and received their felicitations.

General Bajwa’s three-year tenure has also witnessed ‘military diplomacy’ that further helped in success of his national and international tours and talks between United States (US) and Afghan Taliban.
